We are pleased to offer Private IP Subnets and VLANs.
We are delighted to now offer Private IP Subnets and VLANs on our Cloud VPS.
What is a VLAN?
A virtual local area network, or VLAN, is a way of segmenting a network. When you have your own VLAN you are essentially segmenting yourself from the rest of the network.
Why would I want a VLAN?
Using a VLAN will enhance security by creating a virtual boundary around your devices within a network. It essentially hides your traffic from others on the same network. It can also improve network efficiency by reducing unnecessary traffic.
You can also use your VLAN to join all of your services into one network. Let’s say you have a Cloud VPS, a Dedicated Server, and some Rack Space or Colocation. You can now have them all in your own private network.
How does the process work?
Using a VLAN is very simple. All you need to do is let us know the number of IP addresses you require (usually one IP per server). We will then create your VLAN and assign you an IP Subnet to use on your servers.
