Introduction

The purpose of this CCTV policy is to manage and regulate the use of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) within the QuickHostUK Data Centre premises in accordance with UK laws, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR. This policy also aims to provide transparency about how the system operates and safeguards individual privacy rights.

Objectives of CCTV Surveillance

  • To deter unauthorized access and unlawful activity within the premises.
  • To ensure the security of QuickHostUK Data Centre assets, employees, and visitors.
  • To assist law enforcement agencies in the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of criminal activities.

Scope

This policy covers all CCTV systems operated by QuickHostUK Data Centres on its premises and remote locations. It also applies to anyone accessing the recorded footage, including employees, contractors, and law enforcement agencies.

System Operation

  • The CCTV system will be in operation 24/7.
  • Only authorized personnel will have access to the CCTV system and footage.
  • CCTV cameras will be placed in areas where there is a justifiable need for surveillance, and signs will be clearly posted to indicate CCTV operation.

Data Protection and Privacy

  • QuickHostUK Data Centre is registered as a data controller under the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • All recorded footage will be stored securely in a restricted area accessible only to authorized personnel.
  • Recorded footage will be retained for no longer than 30 days, unless it is required for legal reasons or ongoing investigations.
  • Individuals have the right to request access to footage featuring themselves in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. Requests should be made in writing.

Disclosure of Recorded Material

  • Recorded material will be disclosed only to authorized personnel and law enforcement agencies for lawful purposes.
  • Third parties can request access to footage through a formal application and must demonstrate legitimate reasons for the request.

Compliance and Review

  • Any breach of this policy by employees may lead to disciplinary action.
  • This policy will be reviewed annually or whenever there is a change in relevant legislation.

Consent

By entering any QuickHostUK Data Centre premises, individuals consent to the capture and use of their images by CCTV in accordance with this policy.
