.es domain registration requirements

Spain is represented by the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) .es

You should keep the following in mind when registering a .es domain:

The syntax rules must be followed
There should be no prohibited words
There should be no reserved words

It is possible for a .es domain name’s Registrant, Technical, and Billing Contacts to be either an individual or a company. Admin Contacts must be natural persons/individuals only.

In order to register a .es domain, you will need to provide the following information:

1) Registrant ID Type: The following identification details can be provided by you:

VAT ID (DNI, NIF or CIF): Please select this option if you are able to provide us with either your Spanish National Personal Identity Number or your company’s VAT ID number.
Resident alien ID (NIE): Please select this option if you are able to provide us with your Spanish resident alien ID number.
Generic ID: If you do not have any of the above-mentioned identification documents, you are welcome to submit your Passport number, any Foreign ID document number, your Company Registration number, your Driver’s License number, etc.

2) Registrant ID Number: Please provide the ID number of the registrant depending on which option you selected above.

3) Administrative ID Type:

Generic ID: Please choose this option if you are able to provide us with the number of a foreign identification document, a passport number, or a driver’s license number.
National Identity: This option should be selected if you are able to provide us with your Spanish National Personal ID (DNI/NIF) or CIF (companies registered in Spain).
Resident alien ID (NIE): Please select this option if you are able to provide us with your Spanish resident alien ID number.

4) Administrative ID Number: Depending on the option you selected, you must provide the ID’s number.

A new set of requirements for registering domain names has recently been introduced by the .es registry. Now it is necessary to specify the legal entity. Please select one of the following options:
