Colocation Terms & Conditions

Outline

Colocation & Rack Space is the provision of space, power, cooling, and physical security for servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.

Access for Customers

The data centre is accessible only to customers who have a colocation package or rack space with us.

  • A minimum of 24 hours notice should be provided for routine visits during normal operating hours
  • Access must be requested via a support ticket
  • Access is restricted to pre-authorized personnel
  • Emergency on-site access is available 24×7 subject to fair usage

Data centre access outside normal office hours are intended to facilitate emergency work and should not be used for routine operations.

We may not be able to grant access to the data centre to the customer at a given time, for example, if maintenance is being performed on the facility. It is also important to note that QuickHostUK reserves the right to refuse access for health and safety reasons. QuickHostUK will compensate customers under such circumstances by providing additional remote support.

Free Remote Hands Service

As part of our Remote Hands service, we provide assistance with the following items:

  • Rebooting a server or appliance
  • USB or CD mounting and unmounting
  • Checking and moving cables
  • Working with the customer and providing diagnostic information
  • Attaching a KVMoIP

Free remote hands are limited to 60 minutes (4×15) per month. In the event that you require additional minutes, or additional services (such as the installation of software), we can provide these services as part of our Additional Services, which are charged separately. Free KVMoIP access is limited to 1 session (1 x 4 hours) per month. In the event that you require additional KVMoIP time then we can provide this as part of our Additional Services, which are charged separately. For further information, please contact your account manager or sales team.

Free Laptops (Windows/Linux/Mac) for remote sessions are limited to 1 session (1 x 4 hours) per month. In the event that you require additional time then we can provide this as part of our Additional Services, which are charged separately. For further information, please contact your account manager or sales team.

Colocation & Dedicated Rack Space

  • The maximum weight per rack is 350 kilograms when loaded to capacity
  • There is a maximum power draw of 8 amps per C13 PDU port
  • There is a maximum power draw of 16 amps in a 1/4 rack, 16 amps in a 1/2 rack, and 2 x 32 amps in a full rack

Liability

As a colocation or rack space customer, it is your responsibility to adequately insure your equipment.

Payments

We reserve the right to withhold access to remove your equipment until all unpaid invoices are paid and/or to sell the equipment to recover our costs if invoices remain unpaid for more than 60 days.

Cancelations

  • In general, all fees for colocation & rack space service(s), in whole or in part, are non-refundable, even if your service or related service(s) are suspended or terminated prior to the end of your current contract term.
  • Package fees for colocation & rack space service(s) may be refundable, at the sole discretion of QuickHostUK, if you, the account holder, cancel within twenty four (24) hours after purchase, and, have never used the service. Only first-time colocation & rack space accounts are eligible. Any refund will be less any setup fee(s), and, or, a minimum of one (1) hour of remote hands time charged at sixty (£60) +VAT per hour, that was used to prepare and setup your colocation rack space.  
  • No refunds are available for the following:
    • Utility usage such as electricity charges
    • Bandwidth usage charges 
    • Any additional features, services, or upgrades added to your service and purchased at an additional fee;
    • Any fees related to Remote Hands work.
    • Any fees related to domain name registrations associated with your service.
    • Any fees relating to additional IP addresses or network configuration such as VLANs.
    • Any license fees such as Microsoft Windows or backups associated with your service.

Upon account cancellation, a storage fee of £15 per storage unit (U) will be incurred if the equipment is not retrieved within 7 days. Additionally, WEEE disposal fees of £350 per device will apply if the equipment is not collected within 30 days. We reserve the right to withhold access to remove your equipment until all unpaid invoices are paid and/or to sell the equipment to recover our costs if invoices remain unpaid for more than 60 days.
