Bring Your Own IPs · BGP as a Service

Your IP addresses. Announced from the UK.

Bring your own IPv4 and IPv6 ranges to QuickHost. We announce them to the internet from our network, with your ASN or ours, and deliver the traffic to your QuickCloud servers, your rack in our datacentre, or your own network anywhere else.

Why bring your own IPs

Your addresses, wherever your infrastructure lives.

IP space you own shouldn't be tied to one provider. Bring it to QuickHost and use it on our infrastructure or yours, without building your own internet edge first.

Keep Your Addresses

Move providers without renumbering.

Your IPs, reputation and allow-lists stay with you, so customers and partners never need to update anything.

Your ASN or Ours

With or without your own AS number.

Announce from your own ASN, or let us announce your ranges from ours (AS209243).

Delivered Where You Need It

On our network or anywhere else.

Route traffic straight to QuickCloud servers, dedicated servers and racks, or tunnel it to your own site over WireGuard or GRE.

Checked Before It Goes Live

Fewer surprises on the internet.

We check your route objects and RPKI before anything is announced, so problems are caught early.

DDoS-Protected Transit

Protection at our edge.

Your ranges are announced through DDoS-protected IP transit at our network edge.

Managed in QuickCloud

Order, track and change it yourself.

Order, follow each check and manage your prefixes from the same QuickCloud Workspace as your other services.

How it works

Two questions, and we handle the routing.

You don't need to choose a technical design. Tell QuickCloud about your addresses and where the traffic should go, and it sets up the right connection for you.

  1. 1

    Add Your Prefixes

Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 ranges you want to bring.
  2. 2

    Do You Have an ASN?

Use your own AS number, or have us announce from ours.
  3. 3

    Where Should Traffic Go?

Pick a QuickCloud server, a dedicated server or rack, or a site elsewhere.
  4. 4

    We Check, Then Announce

Route objects and RPKI are checked, then your ranges go live.

Two ways to announce

Announce with your ASN, or ours.

Both options put your addresses on the internet through our network. The difference is whose AS number appears as the origin.

You have an ASN

Announce with your ASN

  • Your ASN appears as the origin of your routes
  • You peer with us over BGP from your router, or from the router we provide for remote sites
  • Your route object (and ROA, if you use RPKI) names your ASN
No ASN needed

Announce from ours (AS209243)

Your rangesAS209243Internet
  • No ASN or BGP experience needed
  • We originate your ranges from AS209243

Delivery

Delivered to our infrastructure, or yours.

Use your addresses on QuickHost infrastructure with a direct route, or send them to a network anywhere else through a secure tunnel.

On QuickHost infrastructure

Routed directly to your QuickCloud servers, dedicated servers or colocation rack. No tunnel to maintain and no extra bandwidth charge: traffic is billed on the service that receives it.

Anywhere else

For an office, another datacentre or a cloud provider, we run a dedicated router for you and tunnel the traffic to your site over WireGuard or GRE. The router is managed by us, so there is nothing extra in your server list.

Remote sites need a device that can run WireGuard or GRE (and BGP if you use your own ASN). IPv6 is supported for delivery to QuickHost infrastructure; IPv6 to remote sites is coming soon.

Pricing

Straightforward pricing for your own IPs.

One flat price for announcing your ranges. Bandwidth is only charged when traffic is tunnelled to a site outside QuickHost.

Before you start

What you need before you start.

  • IPv4 or IPv6 ranges registered to you or that you're authorised to use
  • Ranges of at least /24 for IPv4 and /48 for IPv6 (the smallest the internet accepts)
  • A route object for each range (and ideally an RPKI ROA) naming the ASN that will announce it
  • For remote sites: a device that can run WireGuard or GRE

No ASN or IP space of your own yet? QuickHost is a RIPE NCC member, so we can sponsor an ASN or provider-independent addresses for you.

RIPE LIR Sponsoring

Managed in QuickCloud

Every step visible in QuickCloud.

Order in a few clicks, then follow each check through to live. You can see what is announced, where it is delivered and the state of your tunnel at any time.

  • Guided ordering: two questions, no jargon
  • Route object and RPKI checks with plain-English results
  • Tunnel status and setup details for remote sites
  • Usage and bandwidth in one place

FAQ

Questions about Bring Your Own IPs

Something else? Talk to our UK network team.

What is BYOIP?

Bring Your Own IPs lets you use IP address ranges you already hold on QuickHost infrastructure or your own network. We announce them to the internet from our network and deliver the traffic to wherever you choose.

Is this the same as BGP as a Service?

Yes. BGP as a Service is the technical name for announcing your routes from our network. BYOIP is how it appears in QuickCloud, where you order and manage it.

Do I need my own ASN?

No. If you have one, your ranges are announced with your ASN as the origin. If not, we announce them from our ASN (AS209243).

Can I use IPv6?

Yes. IPv4 and IPv6 ranges are supported for delivery to QuickHost infrastructure. IPv6 to remote sites over a tunnel is coming soon.

What's the smallest range I can bring?

A /24 for IPv4 and a /48 for IPv6. Smaller ranges are filtered by most networks on the internet, so they cannot be announced on their own.

Can the traffic go to a network outside QuickHost?

Yes. We run a dedicated router for you and tunnel the traffic to your site over WireGuard or GRE. Your site needs a device that can run the tunnel, and BGP if you use your own ASN.

What checks do you run before announcing?

We check that each range has a matching route object in the internet routing registry and that RPKI does not mark the announcement as invalid. The results are shown in plain English in QuickCloud, so you know what to fix if something is missing.

How much does it cost?

£15 a month, billed hourly from your QuickCloud credit. Delivery to QuickHost servers and racks has no extra bandwidth charge. Remote sites include 10 TB of transfer a month, with larger transfer or 95th percentile tiers available when you order. Prices exclude VAT.

I don't have an ASN or my own IP space. Can you help?

Yes. QuickHost is a RIPE NCC member (LIR), so we can sponsor an ASN or provider-independent addresses for you through our RIPE LIR Sponsoring service.

Is the transit DDoS protected?

Yes. Your ranges are announced through DDoS-protected IP transit at our network edge.
