Private Cloud Infrastructure

QuickHost Private Cloud delivers a fully dedicated cloud environment built exclusively for your organisation. Unlike shared public clouds, your resources are never shared with other customers, ensuring consistent performance, predictable costs, and complete control over your infrastructure.

Each private cloud is deployed on isolated networking with dedicated compute and storage resources, allowing you to design your infrastructure exactly as required. Create your own virtual networks, deploy virtual machines using pre-built or custom operating system templates, and scale resources as your applications grow.

How Our Private Cloud Platform Works

Your private cloud is built on a dedicated HA cluster with pooled compute, RAM, and NVMe. You then carve that pool into VMs, private networks, and storage volumes with complete administrative control.

Private Cloud HA Cluster (4 Node Example)

Node 1 Compute + Hypervisor
Node 2 Compute + Hypervisor
Node 3 Compute + Hypervisor
Node 4 Compute + Hypervisor
Shared Distributed NVMe Storage (Ceph 3× Replicated)
Backup & DR Tier Encrypted snapshots and file-level backups ready for recovery workflows.
Archive / Cold Storage Long-term retention for compliance and recovery windows.
HA Orchestration (Auto Fence + Failover) Detects unhealthy nodes, fences them, and restarts protected workloads on healthy nodes.
  1. Private cloud resources are pooled across healthy HA cluster nodes.
  2. Create multiple VMs and isolated networks inside your dedicated pool.
  3. On node failure, HA fences the host and restarts affected workloads.
  4. Backups remain available from dedicated backup and archive tiers.

What's Included In Your Private Cloud?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Private Cloud?

A Private Cloud is a dedicated cloud infrastructure environment designed exclusively for your organisation. Unlike public cloud platforms, where resources are shared with other customers, your private cloud runs on dedicated compute, storage, and networking resources allocated only to you.

This provides predictable performance, stronger isolation, and greater control over how your infrastructure is configured.

How is Private Cloud different from Public Cloud?

Public cloud platforms share underlying hardware between many customers. While this offers flexibility, it can sometimes result in unpredictable performance or resource contention.

With Private Cloud, all infrastructure resources are dedicated to your environment. This means no noisy neighbours, consistent performance, and the ability to customise networking, security, and architecture to suit your applications.

Is the Private Cloud managed or unmanaged?

By default, Private Cloud environments are delivered as unmanaged infrastructure, giving customers full control of their virtual machines and networking.

However, QuickHost can provide fully managed services, including monitoring, infrastructure management, updates, and operational support if required.

What networking is included with a Private Cloud?

Each Private Cloud environment is deployed on its own dedicated VLAN, fully isolated from other customers.

Your cloud receives its own public IP allocations and a dedicated IPv6 network, allowing you to route services directly to the internet while maintaining private internal networking for communication between virtual machines.

Customers can also create their own internal VLANs and private networks within their cloud environment to segment applications, storage networks, or development environments.

Can I create my own virtual networks and VLANs?

Yes. Within your Private Cloud environment, you have full control to create your own internal networks and VLANs. This allows you to design your infrastructure similarly to how you would build networks inside your own data centre.

For example, you may create separate networks for:

  • Application servers
  • Databases
  • Storage replication
  • Development environments
  • Internal services
Are operating system templates available?

Yes. We provide a range of pre-built operating system templates that can be deployed instantly within your cloud environment.

These include common Linux distributions and optional fully licensed Windows Server templates.

Customers may also upload and maintain their own custom OS templates if required.

Are backups included?

Backup services are optional and can be enabled depending on your requirements.

Automated backup services store VM backups on separate infrastructure to protect against data loss. Backup frequency and retention policies can be configured based on your needs.

Can the Private Cloud be expanded later?

Yes. Private Cloud environments are designed to scale as your infrastructure grows. Additional compute nodes, storage capacity, and networking upgrades can be added without requiring a full platform migration.

This allows your cloud environment to grow alongside your applications and workloads.

Where is the infrastructure hosted?

All Private Cloud infrastructure is hosted in QuickHost’s UK data centre, using enterprise-grade hardware and high-speed networking.

Our infrastructure is designed for performance, reliability, and security.

What workloads are suitable for Private Cloud?

Private Cloud environments are ideal for organisations that require dedicated resources or custom infrastructure architectures, including:

  • SaaS platforms
  • Business applications
  • Development environments
  • Database clusters
  • High-performance workloads
  • Organisations migrating from VMware or public cloud providers
Why is RAM capacity listed as *

Due to current global demand driven largely by AI and high-performance computing workloads, enterprise server memory is currently experiencing supply constraints and significantly increased pricing.

Because of this, the maximum RAM capacity available in a Private Cloud deployment may vary depending on current hardware availability. The capacities listed on our plans do not represent the maximum supported configuration, however actual deployed memory may depend on stock availability at the time of order.

If your workloads require a specific memory configuration, our engineers will work with you to source and deploy the appropriate hardware where possible.

Need Help Designing Your Private Cloud?

Our engineers can help you design the right private cloud architecture for your workloads. Whether you’re migrating from VMware, replacing public cloud infrastructure, or building a new platform, we’ll help you plan compute, storage, networking, and redundancy to suit your requirements.
